The Kanawha County
Firefighter's Mutual Aid Association was formed in 1972. |
|
When two other fire department
associations merged. By 1973 the Mutual Aide
Association
and |
|
the Kanawha County Commission
Purchased 1974 International Pumpers for all Vol. Fire |
|
Departments. Then in the mid
1980's after Charleston Fire Department and the Air Guard
|
|
stopped having fire schools,
the KCFFMAA picked up the task. The first annual fire school was
|
|
held in 1984 at the new Capital
High School and was held there for several years.
|
|
Then was moved to the Carver
Career Center in Malden wear it continued for 4 years.
|
| The fire school then
moved to South Charleston High School picking up more attendance
and a |
| great number of classes.
In 2002 the fire school moved to W.Va. State University wear it |
| continues to grow. With a
greater number of students and quality surroundings. |
