About Glasgow Volunteer Fire
Department:
Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 3000 people living in
an area of 14 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a
primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose
members are on a volunteer status.
The Town of Glasgow organized the first fire department to fight
fires in the Town of Glasgow only. The Glasgow Volunteer was established
and combined with the Town of Glasgow Fire Department on May 1, 1951 to
protect life and property in the communities of Riverside, Hughes Creek,
Hugheston, London and Glasgow.
