About Marmet Community Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.:
Marmet Fire Department proudly provides fire, rescue, and specialty protection for 5,000 residents living in a 50 square mile area. We operate out of one fire station located within the Town of Marmet. Our department provides emergency coverage to industrial, residential, business owners, and the West Virginia Turnpike. Our department is volunteer status. Organized in 1947,the Marmet Fire Department is recognized as a statewide leader in fire service, vehicular rescue and specialty rescue services. In addition, during the early years of establishment (1967) our department created one of the states first volunteer emergency ambulance services. Although the ambulance service no longer exists, the Marmet Fire Department continues its rich tradition in providing quality fire and rescue service in the County of Kanawha with 38 professional and highly trained volunteers, lead by Chief Jerry McGhee. Our department is located in Kanawha County, just 11 miles South of the Capitol City of Charleston and the Yeager Airport. We proudly serve the Town of Marmet to the city limits of Charleston and to the border of Boone County. Our mission is to serve our community, county, and state as called upon with Pride, Professionalism, and Spirit.
