Fire broke out at a Nitro warehouse at approximately
09:45 am
Nitro & St. Albans City Fire Departments along with Nitro Police Department and Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority. By 09:55 Incident Commander Chief Stephen Parsons realized this was going to be a tough fire to fight and started to call for mutual aid fire companies and other recourses. The fire was contained to one wear house and did not spread to neighboring wear houses. Over 10 million gallons of water was used to fight the blaze. At 10:30 the next day WSAZ was reporting the fire was under control, but firefighters remained on scene as of 16:00 over 30 hours after the fire started
