Area 30 House Fire 12/33/2009         A South Charleston home was badly damaged in a fire Wednesday evening.  The fire was fully involved and firefighters still were on scene more than an hour later, they said. No one was inside when the fire started, but there were animals in the home at the time. Authorities on the scene said the pets got out and appeared to be all right. Authorities on the scene also said the fire appeared to have started near a window air-conditioning unit, but the official cause still was under investigation. The one-story home still had holiday decorations on its lawn.
